It is less than two miles walk from the line of the central section of Hadrian's Wall, a World Heritage Site, and ideal for the many visitor attractions and battlefields of England's historic border country.

This is an excellent walking area which boasts spectacular scenery and a variety of bird, animal and plant life. Nearby is Kieder, Europe's largest man made lake and forest which offers visitors a range of activities from canoeing to boat trips and abseiling to nature trails.

In summary, there are many places to visit and lots to do in a scenic rural environment.
